Christmas Time is Here Again...

Christmas holds a special place in my heart. As with many, Christmas holds a ritual of parties, cooking and warm quiet nights. This year is the first year that I have a home that I can call my own. I have begun the annual prepping of the Christmas cards, checking my flour and sugar stores to make sure there is enough to make the traditional cookies and desserts that mark this time of the year.

My favorite dessert is Jul Grot, which is directly from my Swedish upline. It is a combination of milk, sugar and rice with a hint of almond in it. It is a sign of 7 years good luck for the lucky one who gets the almond. We have caught my little sister and more than one uncle digging into it trying to get it before another saw them! While it is not known if the luck only counts if you happen to come across it, vs digging for it, either way each was endowed with a round of tortuous tickles and teasing!

With it turning so cold this year so unusually early I have resigned myself to the indoor sports of cooking, cleaning and reading. Likewise, my homework is well underway for my projects due next weekend.

Creating a blog

Well, it was about time to create something that was a reflection of my daily life to share.
